Step Into Sound - A Midsummer Immersion
As the light of early summer settles in and the season opens into its fullest expression, this event invites you to pause, soften, and step into something different. Inspired by the energy of midsummer, a time long associated with expansion, renewal, and heightened awareness, this is not a concert in the traditional sense, it’s an experience to enter.
This gathering explores a simple but powerful question: what happens when we shift the idea of a concert? What if it isn’t something we watch or analyse but something we inhabit? Something closer to a ritual than a performance.
Through a carefully shaped soundscape featuring music by Ólafur Arnalds, Max Richter, and Ludovico Einaudi, you’ll be invited into a space of deep listening and embodied awareness. These composers have redefined how music can hold time, emotion, and stillness.
Like the explorations of John Cage and Philip Glass, the focus is on process; on being with sound as it unfolds, moment by moment.
And perhaps most importantly: your body is part of the instrument. The frequencies you encounter aren’t just heard, they’re felt. They move through you, resonate within you, and interact with your own internal rhythms, creating a deeply personal and collective experience at once.
Come as you are. Lie down and simply be.

Ancient meets modern in a woodland sound experience
Join me, Kate, for a deeply restorative Friday evening at Damson Hill Cottage, where music, nature, and stillness come together.
As the week draws to a close, you’re invited to step into the calm of the woodland, lie down, and be immersed in sound. This is not a traditional concert, it’s an experience designed for full relaxation and deep listening.
Blending the ancient resonance of Tibetan singing bowls with the gentle, flowing patterns of the harp, this session creates a continuous soundscape that unfolds slowly and organically. Inspired by the minimalist approaches of John Cage and Philip Glass, the music uses repetition, subtle variation, and harmony to quiet the mind and soften the sense of time.
Through vibration, rhythm, and tone, the sound is not only heard but felt. As you rest, your body becomes part of the instrument resonating with each note, each shift, each moment of stillness.
What to expect:
A guided, lie-down listening experience
Live harp and Tibetan singing bowls
A peaceful woodland setting at sunset
A chance to fully unwind and reset for the weekend
No preparation needed; just arrive, settle in, and let the sound carry you.
